PRESS RELEASE

THE LIBERATION OF NORTH BORNEO

A new emerging powerful revolutionary group in Mindanao today revealed that the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao have now decided to include in their objective the liberation of North Borneo, which they claim as part of their traditional homeland, from the hands of what they called the “Malaysian imperialist government”

The leaders of the group, who refused to be identified for the meantime so as not to preempt their formal declaration of liberation of Mindanao and North Borneo in due time, told the Bangsamoro News Agency that their organization, which was organized in November last year, has now more than fifty (50) thousand strong armed forces in Mindanao and another fifty (50) thousand in North Borneo with highly sophisticated fire powers, including anti-tank, anti aircraft surface-to-air missile (SAM). Their forces, they said, is fast growing in number.

The group claimed that they are receiving financial and logistic support from superpower countries, which they refused to identify. But apparently one of these countries is the United States of America (USA).

The group is also highly confident that the Moro National Liberation Front of Chairman Nur Misuari and Moro Islamic Liberation Front of Chairman Salamat Hashim and other armed groups in Mindanao fighting against the Philippine government, as well as the people of Sabah and North Borneo who still cannot accept that they are part of the Kuala Lumpur government, will support their aspiration.

The group said the idea of liberating Mindanao and North Borneo surfaced following the highest level international conspiracy committed by the governments of Macapagal-Arroyo of the Philippines and Mahathir of Malaysia against the people of Mindanao and North Borneo, which included in the illegal arrest and eventual jailing of MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari.

According to the group, the Macapagal-Arroyo government had agreed to drop the Philippine’s claim to Sabah if Mahathir government can help in crushing out or dismantling all the Bangsamoro liberation movements in Mindanao.

The group said it is now high time to bring back Mindanao, which was forcefully annexed by the Manila government and North Borneo, which was likewise forcefully annexed by the Kuala Lumpur government, to its rightful owners, the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao and North Borneo.

Mainland Mindanao was under Sultanate of Sultan Dipatuan Kudarat while Sulu, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi and Palawan islands and North Borneo were part of the Sultanate of Sulu before their illegal annexation to the Philippines and Kuala Lumpur.

The group is also confident that the development-oriented Christian settlers in Mindanao will support the independence as one country of Mindanao and North Borneo, two rich states in the Southeast Asia, which are only used by their colonizers as milking cows.

The same group also called on the peace-loving and democracy-loving people of Malaysia to reject the “arrogant, dictator and greedy” leadership of Mahathir Mohammad if they don’t want the wrath of the American mighty power, and instead, install a true pro-people, God-fearing and democratic leader.

The group has proposed the formation of the “United States of Mindanao and North Borneo. # # #
